THANDAV - College Arts Fest
The Kerala University College of Teacher Education (KUCTE), Nedumangad, hosted the Thandav College Arts Fest on February 24th and 25th, 2025. Organized by the College Union "Ritwa 2024-25", the event aimed to celebrate creativity, diversity, and artistic talent by providing students with a platform to showcase their skills in music, dance, visual, and performing arts.
The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Divya Sree G. P ( Carnatic music performer & Director, Sarang Music Foundation Attingal). The organizing committee consisted of faculty members from various disciplines, led by Dr. Bindu S. Nair, along with non-teaching staff and the College Union members, including Chairperson Mohammed Safwan FS and Vice Chairperson Aswany B L. Dr. Renuka Sonny L R served as the General Convenor, while Smt. Nithya K P and Smt. Saptha D coordinated the arts events.
The event commenced with a prayer by the College Choir, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Renuka Sonny L R, principal of KUCTE Nedumangad. The presidential address was delivered by Mohammed Safwan FS, emphasizing the importance of artistic expression in education.
The felicitation ceremony honored faculty members and student representatives, including:
Smt. Bindu S. Nair (Staff Secretary), Dr. Reshmi K S (Staff Secretary), Pooja S (Arts Club Secretary), Mohasina Asmin (Literary Club Secretary) and Govind S K (College Union Chairman, 2023-2024).
The vote of thanks was delivered by Aswany B L, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team and participants.
The highlight of the festival was a Mohiniyattam performance by Adithya Lekshmi U R (First Year, English), showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kerala.
I have participated in Hindi and English recitation competition and was a member in Group Song competition.

The Thandav College Arts Fest 2025 successfully brought together students and faculty in a vibrant celebration of arts and culture. The event not only enriched the college's cultural spirit but also strengthened the sense of community among students and faculty.This festival was a testament to the institution's commitment to fostering talent and promoting artistic expression in education.
