CHARACTER CONFESSION
In celebration of Shakespeare’s Day on April 23, 2025, the Kerala University College of Teacher Education, Nedumangad, in collaboration with the English Association THINK TANK, organized an intercollegiate character confession writing competition titled “Echoes of the Unspoken.” The event aimed to explore the inner thoughts and unspoken emotions of literary characters through creative expression.
Participants were invited to submit confession letters or monologues written from the first-person perspective, revealing a hidden truth, inner conflict, or regret of a character. Submissions were limited to 500 words and judged based on emotional depth, faithfulness to the original character, and creativity.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from various colleges. Sreelekshmi S from Fathima Memorial Training College, Kollam, secured the first prize. The second prize was awarded to Fathima Nazir from Valiyam Memorial of Teachers Education, Edapallycotta. A shared third place was awarded to Lakshmi S from Kaviyattu College of Education, Pirappancode, TVM, and Fathima M from Sree Narayana Guru Kripa B.Ed College, Pothencode.
All winners received e-certificates in recognition of their outstanding creative contributions. The program was coordinated by Ms. Nithya K.P., Assistant Professor of English, with student coordinators Anjana Mohan and Krishna C.S. from the first-year B.Ed (English Optional) class, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Renuka Sonny L.R.
