CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

 WORKSHOP FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT

The Workshop for Life Skill Development, a capacity building programme, was organized by KUCTE Nedumangad on 20th June 2025 via Google Meet. The session was led by Dr. Anu Mukund, Lecturer in Engish at NISH, Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. Renuka Sonny L. R served as the General Convenor and Smt. Anuja V. S as the Programme Coordinator.

The session, which began with a prayer by Amritha Sree and anchoring by Fahmida, was led by Dr. Anu Mukund, who delivered an interactive and insightful talk on essential life skills. She emphasized the importance of self-awareness and empathy—termed as “mother skills”—and introduced the Johari Window model to explain different facets of the self: open, blind, hidden, and unknown.

Through impactful videos, she illustrated the value of empathy and the consequences of poor decision-making. Key topics included interpersonal relationships, SWOT analysis (highlighting Rowan Atkinson’s success), aggressive communication, toxic relationships, emotional regulation, and the difference between distress and eustress. The session concluded with participant interactions, clarifications, and a vote of thanks by Adithya.
