1st December 2025 – 5th December 2025

1st December 2025 (Monday):

Reached school at 9:10 a.m.; taught A Tale of Two Gifts in VIII C.

Conducted activities: emoji-based entry task, scaffolded reading, vocabulary, dialogue creation.

Assisted with noon meal distribution; attended World AIDS Day awareness session.

Students practised for District Kalolsavam.

2nd December 2025 (Tuesday):

Received a substitution class for VIII B.

Main class for VIII C focused on comprehension, vocabulary, and emotional themes of the story.

Conducted entry activity, loud reading, scaffolded reading, and role-play discourse.

Distributed noon meal; witnessed Oppana final practice.

3rd December 2025 (Wednesday):

Handled two sessions for VIII C; completed final part of A Tale of Two Gifts.

Conducted vocabulary tasks, hot-seat activity, and thematic discussion.

Taught Reported Speech using the Direct Instruction Model with ICT and games.

Assisted with noon meal; taught NMMS students; collected project questionnaires.

4th December 2025 (Thursday):

Conducted a diagnostic test for VIII C and distributed rating scale questionnaires.

Helped with noon meal distribution; interacted casually with students.

Observed UP section martial arts practice.

Took NMMS class during the last period.

5th December 2025 (Friday):

Returned corrected diagnostic papers and conducted remedial teaching.

Administered rating scale questionnaire to secondary students.

Assisted with noon meal distribution.

Showed animated video of A Tale of Two Gifts.

Heard the District Kalolsavam results; congratulated prize winners.

Overall Reflection

Overall, the third week of teaching practice was highly productive, engaging, and growth-oriented. I gained deeper confidence in classroom management, facilitated meaningful learning through varied strategies like ICT integration, scaffolded reading, role play, and diagnostic-based remediation. The interactions with students during classes, mid-day meal duties, and extracurricular practices helped strengthen my rapport with them. The successful participation of students in the District Kalolsavam added a positive and motivating atmosphere to the school environment. Each day contributed to my professional development, offering valuable insights into learner needs, assessment practices, and effective pedagogy.

8th December 2025 - Monday

#Fifteenth Day of Teaching Practice Phase II

As GVHSS Paruthipally, our teaching practice school, was selected as a polling booth for the election,  we student - teachers actively assisted the polling officials by guiding voters, managing queues, and helping to maintain order within the school premises. The experience was informative and helped us understand our social responsibility beyond classroom teaching.

10th December 2025 - Wednesday

#Sixteenth Day of Teaching Practice Phase II

Today, I reached the school by 9:30 a.m. and signed the attendance register as usual. I engaged Standard VIII C students during the third period. The lesson taught was “Types of Nouns” using the Advance Organiser Model. The class was interactive, and students showed interest while identifying and classifying different types of nouns. The use of examples and structured presentation helped learners understand the concept effectively.

In the afternoon, I assisted in distributing the mid-day meal, which gave me an opportunity to understand the importance of teachers’ involvement beyond classroom teaching. Later, during the afternoon session, students from Standards VII and VIII were taken for Physical Training (PT). The PT period was very engaging and well-organised. Students participated actively and appeared cheerful and energetic throughout the session.

The positive atmosphere during PT reflected the importance of physical activities in maintaining students’ physical and mental well-being. At 3:55 p.m., the bell rang for school dispersal. After signing the register, we left the school campus around 4:00 p.m.

The day was productive and enriching. It helped me gain valuable experience in classroom teaching, student management, and co-curricular responsibilities, contributing positively to my professional growth as a teacher trainee.
